SMA Connectors are popular high performance subminiature connectors intended for use with .141 diameter semirigid cables. San-tron also makes versions that will accept cables ranging from .085 to .250 in diameter, both semirigid and flexible. SMA connectors employ a screw type coupling mechanism and have precision butted dielectric interfaces which yield consistantly low VSWR values. They are 50 ohm constant impedance connectors and operate from DC to 18 GHz when used with .141 diameter semirigid cable and DC to 12 GHz when used with optimum diameter flexible cables. They are weatherproof. Unless otherwise specified all San-tron SMA connectors are silver plated brass and have gold plated center contacts. All San-tron SMA connectors will mate with connectors and adapters which have MIL-STD-348 SMA interfaces.
