7/16 Connectors
7/16 connectors are used as replacements for N connectors in high power, low intermodulation applications, particularly in communications systems. Intended for use with 12 mm (.472) diameter coaxial cables, San-tron also makes versions that will accept cables ranging from .141 to .545 in diameter. With appropriate cable they will yield VSWR values under 1.1:1 @ 2 GHz. Larger and more rugged than N connectors they employ M 29 x 1.5 metric screw type coupling mechanisms and have a peak voltage rating of 2700 V RMS. They operate up to 7.5 GHz, have a nominal impedance of 50 ohms and are weatherproof. As an added feature all San-tron 7/16 connectors have phosphor bronze center contacts and male outer contacts for lower contact resistance and better repeatability. Intermodulation generation of straight connectors is less than 155 dBc. Unless otherwise noted all San-tron 7/16 connectors are silver plated and have silver plated center contacts. They are also available with Albaloy plating upon request. All San-tron 7/16 connector interfaces are in accordance with IEC publication 169-4.
